Cultivating Attention

This seven class series is designed for people who want to begin a daily meditation practice. This is a practice course, not a theory or history course.  We assume that you will listen to a class, then practice & apply the lesson for a minimum of one week, and then listen to the next class.   This course introduces: Intention, Attention, Letting Go, the Six Supports for meditation, How to refine your experience, the Four Noble Truths, the Three Jewels and much more.  By following this course as intended, you will develop a stable foundation for ongoing practice.

The Art of Resting

This six class series explores this elusive word “Resting” as it pertains to meditation and life.  This is an audio recording of a live class, thus you will hear practitioner comments, questions/responses, and a lot of laughter.  We are offering the course in the hope that it will be a support as you begin a practice of meditation.

Steady & Flexible: Training the Mind’s Ability to Focus

This course is specifically for young athletes, figure skaters, or performing artists.  It introduces you to training your mind, so that you can be strong, resilient, and undistracted, even when under pressure.  The first, thirty minute, session teaches two qualities of Focus and uses your body and breath as a means for training.  The second, thirty minute, session applies Focus to an external object as a means for learning.  The third, forty-five minute, session applies the skills developed in the previous sessions to work with emotions.  This course strengthens your mind.  By practicing the methods in this course, you will be able to shift your mind smoothly, stay focused without distraction and use emotional energy to invigorate your performance.

Impermanence, Dying and Living

This course is an advanced meditation course.  This is not a course for beginning meditators.

This meditation course requires that you already have a stable foundation in Buddhist Meditation. We ask that you have a minimum of six months experience in Meditation, in Cultivating Attention, the Four Thoughts and basic Buddhist Tenets.   

This experiential practice based course will magnify what is often ignored: our life will end and we do not know when.  Instead of stopping at superficial understanding, these Buddhist Meditation and life practices are designed to place you right in center of the facts.  Impermanence and Death practice is challenging, yet liberating.  This course will move you quickly through many stages of practice, sharpening your view along the way. 

Stability in meditation, emotional stability, and a commitment to the 30-45 minute daily meditation instructions is required for this course.  If followed as intended, this course will take you a minimum of 6 months to complete. Finally, this is an audio recording of a live course. You will hear student comments, questions, and quite a bit of laughter.
